La Liga returns for yet another round of games this weekend as the competition continues to heat up. Every single point is precious at this stage as a win can quite often see a side rise up a number of places in the league table and, with this in mind, Barcelona host Girona on Saturday.
Barcelona have been superb this season and they are running away with the league. After 24 games they have won 19, drawn five and they are yet to lose, while they have scored 62 times and conceded 11 goals. In their last five they have managed to win three and draw twice which has seen them onto 62 points. The current leaders are seven points clear of Atletico Madrid in second and another draw could see the gap close further, meaning they will be desperate to win their next game to at least maintain their advantage.
Girona have been in good form this season and they are looking to take a European place for next year. After 24 games they have won nine, drawn seven and lost eight, scoring 34 goals and conceding 30 times. In their last five they have managed to win twice, draw twice and lose once which has seen them onto 34 points. Girona will know that a string of wins will pile the pressure on the sides above them, but they face an incredibly tough test in the form of Barcelona on Saturday.
