Barcelona lock horns with Alaves at the Vicente Calderón in the final of the Spanish Copa Del Rey tonight, and are big favourites to come out on top given their fine form in recent weeks. The Catalans have suffered a defeat to Alaves this season but will be determined to make amends given they have lost out of the title.
Alaves aren’t in bad form themselves, however, so this weekend’s clash could be an entertaining spectacle. Mauricio Pellegrino’s side finished the league season in ninth place with three wins from their last four games but have been short of wins on the road – one victory in their last five away games.
As for the favourites, Luis Enrique’s Barcelona side finished second in La Liga with seven consecutive wins ahead of their FA Cup final. Despite losing to Alaves in September, the Catalans thrashed their opponents 6-0 in February’s meeting and will have their strongest side available for the trip to the Vicente Calderón.
