Barcelona 2/7 to beat Sporting Lisbon in Tuesday’s Champions League battle

Competition: Champions League

Market: Barcelona to beat Sporting Lisbon

Odds: 2/7 @ Bet365

The Champions League returns for the final match-week of the group-stages as three points has become invaluable to the aspirations of every team, be it for a spot in the next round, a place in the Europa League, or just some pride. With this in mind, Barcelona host Sporting Lisbon in their final game in Group D.

Barcelona have been able to cruise through the group stages with minimal fuss. After five games they have won three times, drawn twice, and they are yet to lose, seeing them take 11 points so far. They are currently three points clear of Juventus in second-place, and barring a loss and a six-goal swing, they will be going through top of the group. Seven goals scored and just one conceded is a decent return, and they will now be turning their attention to their final group game in order to ensure they move into the next round in the best possible form.

Sporting Lisbon still hold some hope that they will make it to the knock-out stages, but it is unlikely. Juventus must fail to beat Olympiakos in their match, while Sporting must then defeat Barcelona for the visitors to leapfrog the Italians. While this is quite unlikely and they will surely have to have to remain contented with a Europa League place, they should be proud of their achievements this season. Two wins, one draw and two defeats is a good record considering their group, but despite this, we are backing Barcelona with odds of 2/7 from Bet365.
