Barcelona welcome Atletico Madrid to the Nou Camp for the first leg of their Champions League bout tonight, and are hoping they can come away with a win to take to the second leg at the hostile Vicente Calderon.
The Catalans giants are the Champions League holders, and come into this clash off the back of six wins and two draws from eight, but have come unstuck recent in their domestic league. Fierce rivals Real Madrid beat them at the Nou Camp, so Atletico might fancy an upset.
Diego Simeone’s men are underdogs tonight, but they always give Barcelona a challenge regardless. Unfortunately for the Rojiblancos, their form in the Champions League has left a lot to be desired, failing to win four of their eight games in Europe this season.
It took penalties for Atleti to see past PSV Eindhoven in the last-16, and they’ve fallen short to the likes of Benfica and minnows Astana in the competition too so Barcelona may feel they have enough in their arsenal to get a result. Ladbrokes are backing the Catalans with odds of 8/15 to win the first leg at the Nou Camp.
