Catalan daily newspaper Sport has suggested that Barcelona are set to complete the signing of Kevin Gameiro from Sevilla.
The Catalans have been trying to agree a deal with their league rivals and the latest reports suggest they have succeeded in their quest.
And with Sevilla chiefs claiming they would not sell Gameiro for less than €40 million, it appears their asking price has been matched.
Rather than playing for los Blancos in the friendly game against Sandhausen, the striker spent the entire game in the stands alongside sporting director Monchi, which is enough to suggest the transfer should be wrapped up in the coming days.
Gameiro has largely impressed playing for Sevilla despite not always being considered a first team regular, bagging 67 goals in just 84 starts.
The Frenchman was recently identified by Barcelona as a good back-up for the MSN trio, with the Catalans beating Atletico Madrid to the player’s signature.
