Barcelona and Real Madrid have both been linked with Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, both clubs remain interested in his services.
The two Spanish giants are currently looking for a new midfielder. Real have long been linked with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, but that move seems unlikely in the current financial circumstances. On the other hand, the Catalans have been trying to wrap up a swap deal for Miralem Pjanic of Juventus, but Arthur Melo’s reluctance to leave the Camp Nou seems to be a big obstacle at the moment.
Having played for Real Betis before moving to Napoli in 2018, Ruiz has significant experience in playing in the Spanish top-flight, and it is believed that both Real and Barcelona will do what they can to try and bring him back to his homeland.
However, the 24-year-old is under contract with the Serie A side until the summer of 2023, which could complicate matters for them.
