La Liga champions Barcelona have submitted an official proposal for Ajax shot-stopper Jasper Cillessen, according to De Telegraaf.
The Catalans are ready to let Claudio Bravo join Manchester City, and appear to have identified the Netherlands international as a worthy replacement.
Barcelona have wasted no time, having sent a formal offer to Amsterdam ArenA, believed to be worth between €10m and €12m.
The Catalans sporting department believes that Cillessen would fit in well at Camp Nou and they want him to challenge Marc-Andre ter Stegen for a starting berth.
Jasper Cillessen joined Ajax from NEC Nijmegen in 2011 and has since amassed 101 Eredivisie appearances for the Dutch giants.
The 27-year-old has been Netherlands’ number one shot-stopper for quite some time and he has 30 Oranje caps to his name.
Cillessen now looks set for a lucrative move to Barcelona, and this does appear to be the perfect time to leave Ajax for a top European club.
