Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara expects his brother Rafinha to resist joining Real Madrid.
Rafinha is considered one of the hottest prospects in Barca’s youth ranks and is expected to follow in his brother’s footsteps and join the club’s first team soon.
The 18-year-old’s exploits have seen him linked with Madrid, who were unsuccessful in their attempt to sign Thiago in the summer.
The Spain international said he was unaware of Madrid’s interest in his brother, but expects him to stay at Camp Nou.
“I have known him since the day he was born, I have followed his every step,” Thiago told AS.
“He is a great person and a great player, we do not know how far he can go, but I am sure he will be a great player.”
“We are talking to the club, since I am going to stay, he might as well stay, too.”
“He is very happy here. The reports about Madrid’s interest are something we did not create. It was the press who put him on their agenda, but I believe my brother is very happy here.”
