Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has admitted that the Catalans are interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The Camp Nou outfit have been searching for a new number one ever since Victor Valdes announced that he would leave the club at the end of the current campaign.
They have in turn been linked with a number of high-profile players, but it appears as though Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is their top target.
“He (Courtois) is a great goalkeeper, he is very good and I like him a lot,” Barcelona chairman Sandro Rosell told reporters.
Signing the Belgian from Chelsea could prove to be a difficult task as the Blues see him as perfect long-term replacement for Petr Cech.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are likely to attempt to turn the player’s loan into permanent deal at the end of the season, so it will be interesting to see where Courtois will end up.
The 21-year-old is currently spending his third season on loan at Vicente Calderon, and has so far made 82 La Liga appearances for los Colchoneros.
