Barcelona are considering a move for Olympique Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes, according to AS.
Lyon only just signed the midfielder from Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense in January this year for €20 million, but it seems he has already attracted the attention of the Spanish giants. It was Lyon’s 1-0 triumph over Serie A champions Juventus in the Champions League at the end of February and the midfielder’s performance in that game that drew the Catalans’ attention to his qualities. A player boasting great technical skill, an attacking mind and aggressive style, Barcelona apparently believe he would fit their requirements well.
The French government has reached a decision to declare the Ligue 1 season finished due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and as it stands, Lyon are in seventh place and will not be competing in Europe next season. It is believed that this will forced club president Jean-Michel Aulas to sell at least one of their stars to ease the effect on the finances, and this is where Barcelona see their chance to make the move happen if they choose to.
