Barcelona could sell their centre-back this summer

Barcelona could be in for a ride this summer! Their season is at a very delicate moment, like it is for everyone else, and there are even reports the club would not want the season to end now, despite the fact they would be crowned champions of La Liga. That has to do with a lot of money to be lost and then their transfer business would be in even bigger jeopardy.

But for that not to happen, Barca are thinking about getting rid of some of the players and raising some money in order to finance new signings. One such departure could be that of Samuel Umtiti. According to Sport, the French centre-back could be leaving the club very soon. The 26-year-old defender has fallen out of favour at the club, as Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet are the first choices in his position. That meant Umtiti has been restricted with playing time and he might be on the go.

This transfer window is expected to be a slow one, due to coronavirus pandemic and big losses most clubs will suffer from, therefore making Barca think about accepting 40 million euros for the player.
