Spanish newspaper Marca suggests that Barcelona are readying a new and improved contract for young forward Gerard Deulofeu.
The 18-year-old is widely considered as the hottest prospect at Camp Nou and he has been in scintillating form at the start of the season.
The winger has scored 3 goals in as many appearances for Barcelona B, while largely impressing for Spain U21 side in the 6-0 victory over Croatia.
As a result, Barcelona chiefs are eager to extend the player’s contract, but more importantly increase his current release clause.
Deulofeu has two years left on his deal at Camp Nou, but club chiefs are afraid his €10 million buy-out clause could be matched by one of the interested clubs.
It is for that reason that they plan to offer the player a contract renewal and significantly increase the aforementioned clause.
Marca understands that the talks over a new deal are likely to start in a couple of months.
