The talented French international Ousmane Dembele has struggled to gain footing at Barcelona under Ernesto Valverde this season.
The boy who arrived as a direct replacement for Brazilian superstar Neymar has thus far failed to live up to high expectations and has been widely linked with a move away from Camp Nou.
Dembele has struggled with discipline and apparent lack of professionalism but instead of chasing him away at the end of the season, Barcelona chiefs are trying to help him settle in and are ruling out any possibility of him being sold.
“Dembele is very young and has never had to make an effort like the one he is doing now to adapt to Barca’s game. ‘We recognise that it is hard for him and he also recognises it, but we’re working to change this situation as quickly as possible.”, Barcelona chief Pep Segura told SER radio.
The 21-year-old French international moved to Barcelona from Dortmund at the beginning of the 2017/18 season.
During his debut campaign the Frenchman made 17 La Liga appearances and scored 3 goals while this year he has 4 goals to his name in 11 league outings.
