Barcelona drop interest in David Alaba

La Liga leaders Barcelona have decided to cool interest in Bayern Munich full-back David Alaba, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalans chairman Josep Maria Bartomeu was keen on recruiting the Austrian defender and he scheduled a meeting with his agents to try and secure a move to Camp Nou.

However, having been informed of the details of the potential deal, the Barcelona chief decided not to pursue his interest in Alaba.

Bartomeu is aware that the Austria international is simply too expensive for the Spanish giants and he will instead turn to other targets.

David Alaba has been an integral member of the Bayern Munich side for several years now, operating at left-back, centre-back and in the middle of the park.
