With Barcelona discussing Neymar’s possible move with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid reportedly not even making a formal enquiry, French media, as relayed by AS, now claim that the former club is expressing their interested in the 27-year-old only to humour Lionel Messi.
It is no secret that the Argentine and the Brazilian forwards formed a close friendship while playing together at Barcelona. The fact that Messi would like to see his old friend return to Camp Nou is apparently enough to make the club representatives hold talks for Neymar, even though they are not truly interested in bringing him back to the club. According to the French La Parisien, Barcelona are not trying really hard to sign the Brazilian again, but are pretending to do so in order to keep Messi happy.
In the midst of the media confusion regarding Neymar’s future it has recently been reported that Messi called his friend and urged him to return to Barcelona instead of going to Real Madrid.
