Barcelona are set to make a shock £60m offer in an attempt to lure Angel Di Maria from Manchester United, according to the Mail Online.
The Argentina international faced criticism in some quarters after failing to consistently produce his best form in his debut season in England.
In twenty-seven Premier League outings, the 27 year old scored just three times, though his tally of ten assists was bettered by only Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla and Cesc Fabregas of champions Chelsea.
Prior to his switch to Old Trafford, Di Maria spent four years in La Liga with Real Madrid, for whom he racked up one hundred and ninety-one appearances in all competitions, scoring thirty-six goals.
During his time in the Spanish capital, the former Benfica man won the league, the Copa del Rey twice and the Champions League, playing all 120 minutes in the final victory over Atletico Madrid at Estadio da Luz last May.
