Barcelona are interested in signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that Barcelona are looking for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski and have identified Gyokeres as a prime target.
Gyokeres has been on the books of Sporting since 2023 when he joined from Coventry City and has been superb for the Portuguese giants. The Sweden international striker scored 29 goals and gave 10 assists in 32 Portuguese league starts in 2023-24 and has scored eight goals and given one assist in five Portuguese league starts so far this campaign. He is one of the best strikers in Europe at the moment.
Barcelona are aiming to win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League this season, while Sporting are looking to become the champions of Portugal for the second season in a row. Both Barcelona and Sporting are playing in the Champions League this season.
