Champions League winners Barcelona are hot on the trail of Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Turkey hotshot recently confirmed that he hoped to leave the club this summer, and the Catalans seem ready to pounce.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique values the attacking midfielder highly and he is eager to lure him to Camp Nou ahead of the 2015/2016 season.

With Turan having another two years left on his deal with Atletico, it is clear he will not be available on the cheap, but the latest reports suggest the Catalans are ready to match his €41 million release clause.

The 28-year-old developed into a key player for los Colchoneros shortly after joining from Galatasaray four years ago.

Turan has since made 177 competitive appearances for Atletico, scoring 22 goals and producing 32 assists in the process.

Bayern to sign Douglas Costa

Bayern Munich are wrapping up the deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Douglas Costa from Shakhtar Donetsk, L’Equipe can reveal.

The Bavarians appear to have had a €35 million proposal accepted by the Ukrainian giants, with the player set to pen a four-year contract at Allianz Arena.

Once the deal is completed, Costa will become the third most expensive signing in club’s history, after Javi Martinez and Mario Gotze.

The Bavarians were in the market for attacking midfielders due to injuries to Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, and have now succeeded in their quest.

Douglas Costa has spent last five and a half years in Donetsk, having joined from Gremio in in January 2010.

He has since made 202 competitive appearances for Shakhtar, scoring 38 goals and setting up another 40 for his teammates.

Monaco close on Benfica starlets

Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola has learned that Monaco are set to complete the signing of Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa from Benfica.

The Principality club have money to spend after cashing in on Geoffrey Kondogbia, but they look set to continue their policy of recruiting talented youngsters.

According to A Bola, the deal taking Benfica starlets Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa to Stade Louis II has entered the final stage.

The Eagles chairman Luis Felipe Vieira was in France yesterday and he has reportedly accepted a €15 million proposal for the two footballers.

But, while Cavaleiro will join Monaco on a permanent deal, Helder Costa may sign on a season-long loan instead.

Both footballers spent the previous campaign on loan at Deportivo La Coruna, but while Costa only managed six substitute appearances, his teammate scored 3 goals in 34 La Liga outings.
