Spanish heavyweights Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Sporting CP starlet Jovane Cabral, according to reports coming from Portuguese media outlet Ojogo.
The 20-year-old winger has been a surprise first-team inclusion with Sporting CP and is hoping to leave his mark in the 2018/19 campaign.
The Cape Verde youngster has thus far made two appearances in the new season, coming on as a substitute in Sporting CP’s wins over Setubal and Feirense, respectively. He seized the opportunity with both hands last Saturday when he came on with 25 minutes remaining to score the only goal in his team’s 1-0 win.
Cabral made a steady progress coming through the club’s lower ranks and his constant progress has reportedly caught the eye of La Liga giants.
Sporting CP are well aware of the growing interest in their starlet and are keen to tie Cabral on a new long-term deal. Portuguese media claim Sporting CP want to insert a €45 million release clause which they hope will be enough to keep potential suitors at bay at the moment.
