Barcelona are stepping up their efforts to sign Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic from AS Roma, reports El Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalans have reportedly made the highly rated footballer one of their primary targets in the summer transfer window and they are set to make their interest concrete.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona officials hope they can purchase the Bosnian for as little as €12 million in the summer transfer window.
Roma chiefs have already rejected offers worth in excess of €30 million from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, but they will be forced to consider much lower proposals if Pjanic refuses to sign a new contract at Stadio Olimpico.
Namely, the 24-year-old has just over a year left on his current deal and has yet to sign a new contract with the Giallorossi.
Barcelona will defend the La Liga trophy if they win the two remaining fixtures, so no wonder they are now 1/1 to win the league title.
