Spanish giants Barcelona are closely monitoring the performances of Stromsgodset midfielder Martin Odegaard, Sport can reveal.
The Catalans appear to be the latest high-profile side to have joined the race for the 15-year-old footballer who has already been making waves at senior level.
Barcelona have notified the player’s representatives of their interest and in turn invited Odegaard to visit La Masia with his father as they aim to move to the front of the queue for the Norwegian starlet.
Despite his fragile age, Odegaard is already considered an important player for Stromsgodset, having scored 3 goals in 19 league appearances during his debut season.
After playing full 90 minutes for Norway in the August friendly against UAE, the youngster has received a call-up for Euro 2016 qualifiers against Malta and Bulgaria.
Odegaard will not be able to leave his current employers before he turns 16 in December, but chances are he will soon become one of the hottest commodities in European football.
