Barcelona are readying January bid for Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen, reports Catalan daily Sport.
It is no secret Gerardo Martino is looking to reinforce his back line in the winter and he seems to have made the Belgian one of his primary targets.
According to Sport, Barcelona are prepared to offer no less than €20 million for the highly rated defender.
Prizing Vertonghen away from White Hart Lane could prove to be a difficult task as Spurs officials rate the player highly, but he might be interested in leaving the club following a dismal start to the season.
The versatile defender has made a total of 46 Premier League appearances for Tottenham scoring 4 goals in the process, and has recently been used at left-back in the absence of Danny Rose.
In spite of the 6-0 defeat to Manchester City, Spurs sit just two points behind top 4 positions and are priced at 3/1 to achieve a top 4 finish.
