Barcelona have failed in their quest to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, according to The Independent. The report has claimed that Barcelona want to sign a midfielder for the short term to cover for the absence of the injured Gavi.

Lo Celso himself is happy to stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Barcelona are third in the La Liga table at the moment with 44 points from 20 matches, eight points behind leaders Girona, who have played 21 games. Meanwhile, Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table with 40 points from 21 matches, eight points behind leaders Liverpool.
