Barcelona go after Ajax pair

According to Sport, Barcelona have devised a plan with which they’ll attempt to go after Ajax duo Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt. The Spanish giants are said to have a stronger relationship with De Ligt’s representatives than De Jong’s, given that they already failed to sign Frenkie back in the summer.

The plan is to work with De Ligt’s agent Mino Raiola on a deal, whereas with De Jong, they’ll be working with him directly. This appears to be the best way in which they’ll be able to land both men, as they prepare for what will likely be an important few months in terms of their transfer dealings.

Barca already have a strong squad but they aren’t considered to be favourites for the Champions League this season by some, and while it wouldn’t change everything, these two youngsters could be significant transfers for them as we look ahead to the future.
