Barcelona go after Asensio

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are pushing for the shock signing of Marco Asensio in 2023.

This controversial move would serve as one of the few occasions in which the El Clasico rivals have attempted to buy from one another, something which is usually considered to be fairly ‘taboo’.

The 26-year-old has been with Real since way back in 2014 and in that time, he’s been able to establish himself as one of the most consistent attacking midfielders in the game.

However, if he can’t get want he wants from Real any longer, he may well opt for pastures new – but this would be the definition of a curve ball, and a good way to remove any remaining good faith between himself and the Madrid fanbase.

Barca, though, are the ones who are really pushing it, and we can’t imagine Asensio would want to uproot his career in such a controversial manner.
