Barcelona go after Rudiger?

According to a recent report from AS, Barcelona are considering a loan move to sign Antonio Rudiger during the January transfer window.

The belief is that this deal would come to fruition, or at least be in the works, if they are unable to secure the signing of Eric Garcia. The Manchester City defender has seemingly been very vocal about his desire to return to the Nou Camp, but if it doesn’t happen, Barca have a back-up plan.

The 27-year-old German defender Rudiger hasn’t quite been able to lock down a consistent place in the starting XI with Chelsea so far this season, but it is thought that there would be opportunities available to him in the long run.

Still, the Blues look like they’re going to do well to keep hold of him this season, especially if Barca come back with a strong offer when January eventually rolls around.
