Barcelona go after van de Beek

According to a recent report from Sport, Barcelona’s proposed new manager Ronald Koeman is interested in trying to sign Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek this summer.

While the acquisition of Koeman hasn’t officially been ironed out just yet, it does seem like only a matter of time before he arrives at the Nou Camp and starts building the club in his own vision.

The future of van de Beek has been a source of discussion ever since Ajax’s wonderkids managed to guide the club all the way to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, with man believing that VDB was one of the central reasons for their success.

Barca are clearly in need of some fresh faces or, at the very least, a change in direction. Their 8-2 humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich in the UCL really did put things into perspective, and this is going to be a big summer transfer window for them.
