Barcelona are preparing for the days when Jordi Alba will not be part of this team. That time is not coming just yet, but planning for the future should be a good thing for Blaugrana. That is why Barcelona are in advanced talks to sign Real Betis full-back Junior Firpo.
According to Diario Sport, Barca have made the 22-year-old one of their primary transfer targets. Firpo is a talented left-back, who played for Spain at the last UEFA Under-21 European Championship, winning the trophy after the final victory against Germany. His position is currently settled in Jordi Alba, but with the Spain international approaching the latter stages of his career, this could be a wise move from Barcelona.
The Spanish champions will have to wait for this deal to be confirmed, because Betis are currently on their pre-season tour in Mexico. Firpo contributed three goals and four assists in 24 La Liga appearances for Betis last season.
