Catalan daily newspaper Sport has suggested that Barcelona are stepping up their efforts to sign Nelson Semedo from Benfica.
The Catalans seem to have come to terms with their number one target Hector Bellerin staying at the Emirates and they look ready to switch their attention to the Eagles starlet.
The first meeting between the two clubs took place few weeks ago, when Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira informed Barcelona officials of his €50 million asking price.
The two sides have since remained in contact and latest reports suggest that the Eagles are prepared to lower their demands to €40 million provided performance related bonuses are included in the deal.
With Manchester United reportedly prepared to offer €35 million for Semedo, Barcelona will have to act quickly if they want to get their man.
