La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are said to be exploring the opportunity to bring Olivier Giroud from Chelsea during the January transfer window.
The Spanish champions have been tipped to make a formal approach for the French international as soon as the Blues have finalized the move for Gonzalo Higuain.
Barcelona are keen to add more firepower upfield having allowed Munir to leave club for Sevilla and Ernesto Valverde is ideally looking to bolster his options for the second part of the season.
Mundo Deportivo claim Olivier Giroud fits the bill as an experienced forward who would have no problems settling in the club such as Barcelona.
The former Arsenal man has not had the greatest time under Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge and the impending arrival of Gonzalo Higuain is set to limit Giroud’s first-team opportunities even more so.
Giroud only scored one Premier League goal in 6332 minutes of action in England’s top flight. The Frenchman however managed to record four assists during that time.
