Spanish giants Barcelona have trimmed the list of potential transfer targets as the Catalans continue for their long-term solution at right-back.
Dani Alves’ departure last season has opened a wound Barcelona are yet to attend to as Luis Enrique continues to go through the season with limited options on this position. Aleix Vidal’s injury only made things worse as Sergi Roberto remains the only viable solution.
The club chiefs are therefore designing a plan for a summer move and appear to have cut the list of targets to only two names, according to reports from Marca.
Arsenal star player Hector Bellerin as a former La Masia graduate remains the main choice, but Barcelona are aware that Gunners will be highly unwilling to part ways with their star player.
Additionally, the Catalans are preoccupied with the financial aspect of a deal that could go well beyond a €60 million-mark.
The second option, and a financially more appealing one, is the 22-year-old starlet Joao Cancelo who is impressing for CF Valencia.
The Portugal international would cost around €30 million.
