Portuguese daily newspaper Record has suggested that Spanish giants Barcelona are hot on the trail of Benfica full-back Nelson Semedo.
The 23-year-old is widely expected to leave the Eagles for greener pastures this summer, and he has so far been linked with Man City, Man Utd and Bayern Munich among other clubs.
However, Record claims that Barcelona have gained the upper hand in the race for his signature, as the Catalans have opened talks with their Benfica counterparts.
The same source has suggested that the La Liga side are ready to offer around €35 million for the talented full-back, but the problem is that the Eagles chairman Luis Filipe Vieira is holding out for €50 million.
This is enough to suggest that the Catalans have given up on signing Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin and they are now fully focused on trying to agree a deal for Nelson Semedo.
