Barcelona interested in Arshavin

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola admits that he is considering making a move for Zenit St Petersburg ace Andrei Arshavin.

Real Madrid has also been linked with the 27-year-old Russian striker in recent weeks.

Zenit has revealed that they would consider selling Arshavin in the January transfer window.

“He is a very good player,” Guardiola told Sport. “But I am working with the players that I have. For now this is how it is.

“When the market opens again we will decide if any position is needed, but I know that is a very good player.”

Arshavin’s contract with Zenit expires at the end of the season.
