Barcelona are interested in signing Chelsea central defender Andreas Christensen in the summer transfer window, according to Mundo Deportivo. Christensen is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season, and Spanish and European giants Barcelona are keen on securing the services of the 25-year-old Denmark international on a free transfer.
Christensen is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and has been on the books of Chelsea since 2012. The Dane has made 88 appearances in the Premier League for the Blues so far in his career. Christensen has made 12 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League, and has scored one goal and given one assist in five Champions League for Thomas Tuchel’s side so far this season.
Barcelona are sixth in the La Liga table at the moment with 39 points from 23 matches. Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table with 50 points from 25 matches.
