Barcelona interested in Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte

Barcelona are interested in signing Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. The report has claimed that Laporte has fallen down the pecking order at defending Premier League champions City, and that La Liga giants Barcelona are keen on securing the central defender’s services.

So far this season, Laporte has made six starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier league for City. The 28-year-old Spanish central defender has also played thrice in the UEFA Champions League, thrice in the Carabao Cup, and twice in the FA Cup so far this campaign.

Barcelona are at the top of the La Liga table at the moment with 62 points from 24 matches, as many as nine points clear of second-placed and defending champions Real Madrid. Meanwhile, City currently find themselves second in the Premier League table with 58 points from 26 matches, five points behind leaders Arsenal.
