According to a recent report from ESPN, Barcelona are stepping up their push to try and sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.
While AC Milan are also believed to be in the running, Barca are leading the charge as Rudiger seemingly gears up to leave Stamford Bridge. At this moment in time he isn’t considered to be one of the first defensive names on the teamsheet under Frank Lampard, and yet, many other European sides are of the belief that he could add some real value to their squad.
Barcelona may not be playing their best football right now under Ronald Koeman but even with that being the case, the name value of the club – as well as the appeal of playing at the Nou Camp – could easily be too much to turn down.
It all comes down to what Rudiger values the most, and based on Chelsea’s success, you’d have to think he wants to be out there playing.
