According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Barcelona are believed to be preparing an audacious late bid to try and sign Chelsea winger Willian. The bid is said to be worth around £20 million, with this potential move marking Barca’s latest attempt to sign a player that they’ve been admirers of for quite some time.
The hope is that whoever gets him to sign on the dotted line will be able to do so on a free transfer when his contract with Chelsea runs out in July, but Barca want to try and surprise everyone by beating them to the punch before the January transfer window comes to an end.
In the summer of 2018, and again this past summer, Barca made their intentions clear to Chelsea with a few sizeable bids to try and sign the Brazilian. Now, though, with his value seemingly dropping, the Spanish giants could get what they wanted at a discounted price.
