Barcelona join chase for Rui Patricio

Spanish champions Barcelona have joined the race to sign Sporting CP goalkeeper Rui Patricio, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalans plan to offload former Ajax star Jesper Cillessen and they have drawn up a list of potential replacements.

The list also includes Tim Krul, Joel Robles and Vicente Guaita in addition to Rui Patricio, who is almost certain to leave Sporting CP this summer.

The Portuguese goalkeeper has had offers from Napoli and Wolverhampton, and he has set his sights on leaving at the earliest opportunity.

Patricio has asked to have his contract with Sporting CP terminated after the players were attacked by the club supporters, and it remains to be seen whether he will be sold or leave on a free transfer.
