Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi is enjoying a blistering start to the new season at Sevilla, having developed into a key player for Rojiblancos new manager Jorge Sampaoli.
His formidable run of form has drawn plenty of attention from the host of Premier League clubs most notably, but from the La Liga champions Barcelona as well.
According to reports from the Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans are willing to scrap Sevilla’s efforts to extend the Frenchman’s contract with the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit with an offered believed to be in excess of £26.5 million.
Barcelona have apparently identified N’Zonzi as a perfect replacement for Sergio Busquets at the centre of the park and are willing to make their move as early as during the January transfer window in efforts to boost their midfield in time for the crucial stage of the season.
N’Zonzi is well aware of the increasing interest for his services, but remains fully focus on his club.
The towering 27-year-old midfielder has made nine La Liga appearances this season managing one goal during that time.
