La Liga champions Barcelona are hot on the trail of Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, El Mundo Deportivo has learned.
The Portuguese footballer has become one of Europe’s hottest commodities, with Juventus and Manchester United reportedly leading the chase for his services.
However, El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona are keen as well, with the Catalans looking to reinforce their midfield department.
Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez was in the stands as Portugal hammered Estonia in their final Euro 2016 warm-up fixture, and Andre Gomes was at the centre of his attention.
However, he also made a check on full-backs Cedric Soares and Raphael Guerreiro, another two of club’s targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
With Dani Alves leaving to join Juventus, the Catalans desperately need to sign a high-quality right-back, while they also want cover for Jordi Alba on the left flank as Jeremy Mathieu is almost exclusively used in the heart of defence.
