Barcelona are seriously considering making a bid for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Ilkay Gundogan, reports Bild.
With star midfielder Xavi Hernandez reportedly set to move to the MLS at the end of the season, the Catalans are eager to sign him a worthy replacement.
And according to German daily newspaper Bild, Barcelona are lining up a bid for Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan.
The player’s representatives have already been contacted by the Spanish club as the Catalans are reportedly preparing a summer bid for his services.
Given that Gundogan’s contract at Signal-Iduna Park is set to expire in June 2015, Barcelona hope to sign him on a cut-price deal in the summer.
The Catalans could face a stiff competition from arch rivals Real Madrid, who are also believed to be keen.
Barcelona and Real are locked in the battle for the La Liga trophy, with the Camp Nou outfit 4/7 favourites at the moment.
