Barcelona keen on Di Maria
Champions League winners Barcelona are considering an ambitious bid for Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria, Sport can reveal.
The Catalans aim to recruit a creative central midfielder who can be effective in the final third and the Argentina star is one of the players they are looking at.
Barcelona have not been put off by Di Maria’s poor performances in English Premier League and they could come forward with an official proposal in the coming weeks.
The Argentine has largely struggled for form and playing time in the second part of last season and it is believed he plans to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Di Maria, 27, did manage 3 goals and 10 assists in 27 Premier League outings, but he hasn’t quite managed to justify the hefty transfer fee.
The midfielder did start all three matches for Argentina at the 2015 Copa America, with La Albiceleste now 9/10 to see off Colombia in the quarter-final.
Arda Turan wants Atletico exit
Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan has decided to leave Vicente Calderon this summer, according to his official representative.
The Turkish midfielder has had a key role to play in helping los Colchoneros become one of Europe’s top sides, but it appears he is ready to search for a new challenge.
Turan wants to leave Atletico in the summer transfer window as he hopes to join a top Premier League club.
“His intention is to leave Spain this summer,” agent Ahmet Bulut told Spanish daily newspaper AS.
“His will is to leave and to play in the Premier League, that is the path he would like to take to continue his career.
“We are currently in talks with three teams but I cannot reveal the names of the clubs. However, I can tell you that they are the best in England and in European football.”
Arda Turan, 28, has spent last four years at Atletico, scoring 44 goals and producing 76 assists in 190 competitive outings.
Chelsea interest in Serbian starlet confirmed
Both Chelsea and Valencia are showing interest in Serbia Under20 star Andrija Zivkovic, according to one of the winger’s representatives.
The 18-year-old was one of country’s star performers at the Under20 World Cup in New Zealand, where Serbia lifted the title by defeating Brazil in the final.
And while Benfica and Valencia have both been attempting to recruit the talented footballer this summer, it has now been revealed that Chelsea are also keen.
“Valencia and Chelsea are two of the clubs that are interested in Zivkovic,” agent Predrag Djordjevic confessed to Superdeporte.
While Zivkovic still plies his trade with Partizan Belgrade, he is fully owned by an investment fund led by Pini Zahavi, while former Olympiakos star Predrag Djordjevic acts as one of his representatives.
The youngster has already made two appearances for the senior national team, while scoring 10 goals in 49 league outings for his club.
