Catalan giants Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Hoffenheim defender Fabian Schar, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Camp Nou outfit began rejuvenating their back line with the arrival of Samuel Umtiti, but the process is set to continue as the likes of Javier Mascherano, Gerard Pique and Jeremy Mathieu are not getting any younger.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona have reignited their interest in Hoffenheim defender Fabian Schar.
The Catalans sporting director Robert Fernandez was in Andorra yesterday evening to watch the World Cup qualifier against Switzerland, and many believed he was making a check on Stephan Lichtsteiner.
However, the report claims that he was instead keeping a close eye on Fabian Schar, as it is believed that Hoffenheim may be prepared to entertain offers for his services at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old has surprisingly failed to nail down a regular starting berth at Hoffenheim, but he remains regarded as one of Europe’s most talented centre-backs.
