Spanish giants Barcelona are weighing up January move for Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to Mundo Deportivo.
It is no secret that the Catalans aim to sign a holding midfielder to act as back-up to Sergio Busquets and it appears the Frenchman is high on their hit list.
Having learned of Juventus interest in the 27-year-old footballer, Barcelona are expected to step up their efforts to recruit the player in the January window.
The Catalans have also been looking at Borussia Dortmund hotshot Julian Weigl, but the talented German seems too expensive at the moment.
Meanwhile, Steven N’Zonzi has developed into one of the leading holding midfielders since joining Sevilla from Stoke City, and it looks as though los Rojiblancos will struggle to keep hold of his services.
The player’s physical presence and technical skills are very similar to those of Sergio Busquets, so no wonder that Barcelona coaching staff sees the Frenchman as a potentially great addition to the squad.
