The Telegraph has learned that Spanish giants Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Everton starlet John Stones.
The Catalans reportedly planned to watch the talented defender in the recent friendly between Spain and England in Alicante, but the centre back was left on the bench for the entire match.
Nevertheless, having then impressed in the 2-0 win over France, Stones probably did enough to ensure Barcelona remain hot on his trail.
The Catalans do plan to rejuvenate their back line and following the impressive showings of the Everton defender in the Premier League, it is not that surprising they are considering luring him to Camp Nou.
England’s top clubs are also after Stones and even though Roberto Martinez insists that the Toffees do not need to sell, chances are they would not be able to reject a big money offer for his services.
The 21-year-old appear to have nailed down his place in England squad and he is 1/6 to make the Three Lions roster for Euro 2016.
