Barcelona keeping tabs on Ajax starlet

La Liga champions Barcelona are being linked with a move for Ajax youngster Donny van de Beek, Mundo Deportivo has suggested.

The Catalans have been following the UEFA Youth League matches closely, searching for the hottest European talent, and their scouts have been impressed with the performances of the Dutch midfielder.

Barcelona hope to lure van de Beek to Camp Nou in the near future, but that will be no easy task now that he has been promoted to the senior set-up.

The 19-year-old made a total of eight Eredivisie appearances last season and is expected to get even more playing time next term.

While starting his career as a central midfielder, van de Beek has been used in a more advanced role of late, showing a great deal of potential in the process.

The youngster is not the only Ajax player on Barcelona radar as the Catalans have been showing interest in Jairo Riedewald, Riechedly Bazoer, Vaclav Cerny and Matthijs De Ligt.
