Barcelona are closely following Real Betis left-back Alex Martinez, Diario De Sevilla has revealed.
It is no secret that the Catalans are looking to add another left-back to the squad in the summer and they are now identifying their targets.
According to Diario De Sevilla, one of the players on the shortlist is Real Betis youngster Alex Martinez.
The Spanish newspaper claims that the Spanish giants had the player scouted on numerous occasions this season and they are expected to step up their interest in the summer.
The 20-year-old is currently part of Betis’ B squad, but he has featured in two La Liga games this term as well.
The young full-back has a contract until June 2015 with Real Betis and he has a buyout clause that will automatically rise from €1.2 million to €20 million on 1st July.
It is for that reason that Barcelona officials are expected to make a move before the season ends as that would allow them to sign a very promising footballer at a cut-back price.
