Barcelona have launched a fresh assault on Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez, reports Catalan daily Sport.
It is no secret the Catalans are in the market for a new central defender, and after failing to lure any of their top targets to Camp Nou, they could turn their attention to the Real Sociedad defender.
La Real have so far been reluctant to negotiate the sale of one of their prized assets, especially having secured Champions League football, but Barcelona seem to have an ace up their sleeve.
Namely, the Catalans are prepared to loan star forward Gerard Deulofeu to Real Sociedad if their La Liga rivals agree to sell Inigo Martinez.
Deulofeu is wanted by a number of Europe’s high-profile sides and there are no doubts he would be a great signing for the Anoeta outfit.
Inigo Martinez, 22, has come through the youth ranks at Real Sociedad and went on to score 7 goals in 60 La Liga matches.
