Barcelona are preparing a shock transfer bid for AC Milan star Filippo Inzaghi according to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.
New Barcelona boss Josep Guardiola is said to be looking for a replacement forward for the likely outgoing striker Samuel Eto’o. Initial interest was in Juventus’ French striker David Trezeguet, however after being priced out of a move for the Frenchman Guardiola is understood to have now set his sights on Italian veteran Inzaghi.
Inzaghi joined the Rossoneri in 2001 from fellow Italian side Juventus and Inzaghi’s career has included over 13 years of top flight football. The Italian has also represented his national side on 57 occasions, scoring 25 times.
Despite the fact Inzaghi is now 34, the Italian veteran shows no signs of slowing and has continued with his prolific form this last season, scoring 18 in 28 games.
The striker will bring priceless years of experience to the Nou Camp and the Italian certainly knows how to score and should have no problem continuing his prolific form into Spain.
