Barcelona are eyeing a shock move for Fenerbache forward Robin Van Persie, according to the Mail Online.
The Catalan club currently have just three senior forwards in their first team squad, and are looking for a cut-price back up option.
Van Persie, who could be available for just £2.2m when Barca’s transfer ban expires, could be set for an unexpected swansong at the Nou Camp despite moving to Turkey just three months ago.
The Netherlands international has scored four goals in eleven club appearances so far this season, though he has started just three times in the Super Lig.
Prior to his move to Fenerbache, Van Persie spent three years at Manchester United having spent eight seasons at Arsenal beforehand.
He has fifty goals for his country, though his latest strike came to no avail as Danny Blind’s side lost to the Czech Republic, and in doing so failed to qualify for next summer’s European Championships in France.
